Centre text in Photoshop CS4
To centre text on a page select your text layer and your background layer so both are selected (hold down Ctrl when clicking on them to select both). Then select the move tool (V), you then have options on the top toolbar to align horizontal and vertical centers.
That will put your text layer exactly in the center of your background layer.
